Be Free Of Depression
Life is very painful when you are depressed. There is no peace of mind and no hope. Why even bother? Does this sound familiar? Depression seems to be caused by our circumstances, but it's not. In most cases, depression is a state of mind. It's created by resisting and withdrawing. There may also be chemical imbalances, but for now, we are just going to talk about the mental aspects of depression. Here is how it works: Something happens in life that strikes a nerve. We lose a relationship, a job or some other major event. These circumstances then reactivate an old hurt of feeling not good enough, worthless, failure or some other form of feeling "not okay." Usually we are able to push this hurt back down, but this time, the circumstances are so overwhelming, we can't. So, in an automatic, subconscious attempt to avoid this hurt, we withdraw. We also become "at the effect" of the circumstances that strike the nerve. We feel like a victim and lose our power. Life then goes downhill quickly. It's the combination of withdrawing and being "at the effect" that creates a state of depression. When these forces combine, we stop creating and stop taking action. We become very negative. We lose our confidence and life starts falling apart. This then produces more hurt and more depression. Then life gets worse and we become even more depressed. Without knowing, we create a downward cycle that causes all sorts of suffering. To learn more about being "at the effect", read the section, Live At Cause. To learn more about the nerve that is being triggered, read the section, Heal Your Inner Core Issues.
